Why Postpartum Care is Important:

The time following the birth of your baby, known as the postpartum period, is an important time because the way in which a new baby transitions into a family has a lasting impact on both the physical and emotional health of mom, dad and siblings.  TLC midwife offer tremendous postpartum support and additional programs to support mothers during this special time.

 

Placenta Encapsulation:

Placenta encapsulation is the practice of ingesting the placenta after it has been steamed, dehydrated, ground, and placed into pills. Traditionally, this is taken by the mother and is believed to impart numerous health benefits.  It is frequently taken shortly after giving birth, during a woman’s menstrual period, or during menopause with the belief that it helps counter some of the symptoms of menopause. Our Postpartum Support:

After the birth of your baby, we will visit you at the hospital or at your home  1 time or as per needed following the birth of your baby. We will also schedule an appointment with you to see you for a 6 weeks postpartum visit to ensure mom and baby are doing well.

Lactation Support Group:

Mothers are welcome to attend our monthly Lactation Support Group as needed, led by our Board Certified Lactation Consultant. The Lactation circle is a great way to meet other breastfeeding moms, gain support and ask any questions you may have about breastfeeding. We also offer private Lactation Consulting. Well Woman Care Services

Women can continue seeing us well after the postpartum period for all of their gynecological needs. Our Well Woman services include annual well-woman exam, menstrual cycle management, family planning services and sick visits all done in the comfort of your home or the office.
