Nurse, Birth Assistant
Having served families through child care, overnight and nursing support for newborns since 2012, Talia found herself increasingly called to support mothers and families in the all important Birth Year. She began working as a Doula in 2014 while continuing in-home child care and support and pursuing her nursing degree through SUNY Downstate.
In 2019 she began work as a Birth assistant at the Brooklyn Birthing Center, where she continues to work as a nurse today. In 2020, she also took on the monumental role of Postpartum nurse at Mount Sinai West, where she served thousands of families across a wide range of cultures, ethnicities, and birth experiences. She is coming most recently from a 6 month position at a full service Maternity unit at a Rural Access clinic in the Berkshires, and is excited to join the TLC team and return full time to out of hospital care!
Talia is a Certified Lactation Counselor and will be earning her IBCLC credential in September, allowing her to provide full spectrum Lactation and infant feeding support for the duration of a family's breastfeeding experience. She is also planning to start Midwifery school in January 2022, and is so grateful for the mentorship and support of the TLC team and community!
