Yuen Kwan Chan 

DNP, CNM, OB/GYN NP

Yuen Kwan Chan is a New York State CNM, and OB/GYN NP since 2009.  She started her career as a RN at NorthShore University Level 3 NICU since 2007. She received her BSN, MSN degrees from Stony Brook University in 2009 while she was a nurse in NICU. During her time at North Shore LIJ, she discovered her true passion for women health and babies. Being fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin, she has devoted most of her midwifery career to empower women about natural birth through education and providing individualized care for women in the Asian community.

Since then, she had over a few thousands of successful deliveries during her career over the past decade. She even further her education to better serve the community by getting her Doctorate in Nursing Practice with focus in women's health in 2014. With a multi-diverse experience in different birth settings range from hospital, birthing center and home birth, Yuen Kwan is confident and experiences in providing each woman the birth of their dream. She believes that every women deserve the best and individualized care and to remember this precious moment of their life. 

She has affiliations and delivering privileges with NYU Langone hospital, Maimonides Medical Center, Birthing Center of New York and  Brooklyn Birthing Center.  With the passion of education, she is also an adjunct faculty member at Adelphi University’s College of Nursing. She is a certified lactation consultant (CLC). She is passionate about breastfeeding and helping mothers with infant care.
